    v1.0.1 brings compatibility with Chromium browsers (including a .crx file for download). Permissions are also altered slightly (reduced) to use the more efficient declarativeNetRequest API for the workaround currently required to include cookies in downloads on Firefox ESR 140.

    Installation Instructions

    Install on Chromium: official Chrome instructions

    • Download the chunky-dl.crx file
    • Navigate to chrome://extensions (type it in or click the extensions overflow puzzle icon, then Manage Extensions)
    • Toggle the Developer mode switch in the upper right, if not already enabled
    • Drag and drop the downloaded .crx file into the page's main area (page may require a refresh before doing this)
    • Don't forget to enable the extension for private windows if you intend to use it in that mode

    If the above steps do not work, review the official Chromium documentation and follow those steps to load the extension unpacked (use the source code directly for this, not the CRX).

    Install on Firefox (temporarily): (official Firefox instructions)

    • Download the chunky-dl.zip file
    • Navigate to about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox
    • Click the Load Temporary Add-on... button
    • Navigate to and select the downloaded ZIP file to load it
    • Don't forget to enable the extension for private windows if you intend to use it in that mode

    Users of Firefox ESR, Developer, Nightly, or Unbranded Editions can instead load the extension permanently after setting xpinstaller.signature.required to false in the about:config page.
